Is the clinic OHIP funded?

Our clinic does have a specialized contract - an Alternative Payment Program (APP) through the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Please contact the clinic for further information.

Do I need a Doctor's Referral?

A physician's referral is not required to provide treatment however it may be required by your extended health care plan, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) or your auto insurance company (in case of an automobile accident). It is best to check with your funding source to determine if a Doctor's referral is required.

My injury happened at work and I am filing a claim. Will I be billed for my treatment?

Your physiotherapist will complete the necessary paperwork to submit to the WSIB for approval of treatment funding. We will hold any billing until the WSIB responds to our treatment plan.

Are your Physiotherapists registered?

Yes, all of our physiotherapists are licensed to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Our physiotherapists are regulated in Ontario under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).

How long is the initial assessment?

Your initial assessment will be one on one with one of our qualified, registered physiotherapists. Assessments usually last anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, however, it depends on the type of injury.

What should I bring for my treatment?

The first thing you will need when you come in for treatment at our clinic is your health card. All patients need to check in with our receptionist by showing their health card, even if your injury is a WSIB related injury, or from a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA). Also, in order for us to effectively treat your area of injury, you should wear some loose, comfortable clothing.

How does your type of treatment heal my injury?

Our treatment consists of thermotherapy, cryotherapy, electrotherapy, acupuncture, in conjunction with rehabilitative exercises to reduce swelling and pain, and to restore function.

How long will it take before I begin to feel better?

There is no specific amount of time that it takes for you to start feeling better. Typically, your rate of healing is dependant on many factors such as age, type of injury, length of time since the injury, initial care, diet and overall health. However, our treatment will help to stimulate your body's own healing response to heal itself.

Can I get a membership to your gym?

Yes! Patients that are discharged from active physiotherapy treatment are welcome to join our gym to continue an independent exercise program on a monthly basis. By joining the Gym Maintenance Program, it will allow you to improve and maintain all of the health benefits you have experienced as a patient, at a relatively low cost, in the biggest rehabilitation gym in Northwestern Ontario!
